” … a series of fragile and rather touching songs balancing on the edge of another world. David and Scenatet’s Mathias Seibæk, Mikkel Schou and Vicky Wright play with great virtuosity on a unique mix of various MIDI instruments and electric guitar. There are all sorts of different things going on: Thin, trembling retro b-movie synth sounds, an EWI (electronic wind instrument) that can produce any electronic sound with added humanity, a good deal of rainforest new-age aesthetics, a synthetic bird chirping controlled by phone, a MIDI guitar that sounds a bit like Andreas Vollenweider’s harp. Among other things. Kaj Duncan David himself sings alternately through a talkbox and a vocoder – often both at once and often with heavy use of the synthesiser’s pitch bender.

We are working with the boundaries between language and sound, song and speech, music and nature, meaning and nonsense, and it’s equally ambiguous as it is to be human in a post-human age. And while the conceptual complexity reverberates in the echoes of new and old technologies, these songs are also just really catchy and delivered with energy and understated humour. Maybe there is hope for humanity, even in a world populated by AI.”
