Confined to her apartment in Berlin’s Prenzlauer Berg during the first lockdown in early 2020, cellist Lucy Railton embarked on a recording project where she would essentially write and record around the sounds of the eerily quiet city – the church bells, the rumbles of passing S-Bahn trains, birdsong. ‘5 S-Bahn’ is the sound of human life readjusting to surroundings, becoming aware of nature.
